MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

NEED FOR MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

Mental health awareness is a critical need in India. India is a country with a population of over 1.3 billion people, and mental health disorders are prevalent, affecting millions of people. India is a suicide capital of the world. According to the National Mental Health Survey of India 2015-16, nearly 10% of India's population suffers from mental health disorders.

The stigma surrounding mental illness in India is another reason for the need for mental health awareness.

By raising awareness about mental health, reducing stigma, and increasing access to mental health resources, we can help those suffering from mental health disorders and prevent the negative consequences that can result from untreated mental illness. Mental health must be a priority in India's public health agenda, and concerted efforts must be made to address the mental health crisis in the country.
