I met a 16-year-old teenager in a counseling session. at an obervaiton home (where children are detained for alleged crime). Against his father’s advice, he began narrating his family’s deteriorating financial situation. When I took his rapid depression test I realized that he is suicidal, mainly because he cannot see his bright future. I learned the intensity of his suicidal tendency as he had also planned how he would do it. He told me that he had to leave his school due to a financial crisis. I counseled him to fill out the form for the 12th board exam as a private student and that our foundation would pay for it and for related things like books, coaching, etc.
I saw a glimmer of hope in his eyes. We now got his form filled and now he is taking tuitions for English and Agriculture. I realised that many students want to appear for the board examinations but cannot do so because of financial issues. Let us help such to make it in life.
