I recently met a young college going student whom I invited for a panel discussion. After the discussion while everyone else left he stayed back and started to have a conversation with me. He told me that he he learnt swearing/verbal abuse while in college as everybody else was doing it and he felt left out but when he watched my video of an open forum where he heard me doubting the intentions of a social worker who does verbal abuse. This had an impact on him and he totally left swearing.
I was overwhelmed to hear what he said. Stories like this works like adrenalin to continue to do such small things to make a lasting impact on people’s lives especially younger generation. Soon many other young people said the same things to me on different occasions. It is important that we leave morally safe environment for the coming generation.
